Frequently Asked Questions
LASHES
Q: How long do lash appointments take?
A: A full set of lashes takes anywhere from 2-3 hours depending on how many natural lashes you have, how dramatic you want your lashes to be, and how easy it is to apply to your natural lashes. Fills vary from 45 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on what type of extensions you receive.
Q: Will lash extensions damage my natural lashes over time?
A: The short answer? No! Properly applied extensions can actually improve the quality of your natural lashes, especially when proper at home care is performed by the client.
Q: What’s the difference between classic and volume lash extensions?
A: Classic extensions are always applied in a 1:1 ratio – that’s one extension applied on one natural lash. Volume extensions involve taking smaller diameter extensions, creating “fans” of many different sizes depending on your lash goals, and applying each fan to each natural lash. Generally speaking, classics are more understated, and volume is fluffier and fuller.
Q: How do I care for my extensions?
A: Classic and volume extensions each require slightly different at home care regimens, so we will discuss which is right for you after your initial appointment and over time as we keep your lashes filled.
MICROBLADING AND SHADING (BROWS)
Q: What is microblading?
A: Microblading is a manual tattoo method for the brows in which a small drop of pigment is applied in a hair stroke pattern in the skin to create a three-dimensional effect.
Q: How do I know if microblading is right for me?
A: Many different factors make clients eligible or ineligible for microblading. Quality of skin, medical conditions, a variety of skin conditions and even medications can determine if microblading is the best choice for you. If you aren’t sure, come see me in person for a skin analysis and evaluation to answer any questions you may have. It’s free!
Q: What is the blade and shade technique?
A: With blade and shade, rather than relying solely on microblading strokes to fill the gaps in your brows, we use a manual, tapping technique to distribute pigment in a wash of color through the brow, as well as the hairstrokes. This is best for clients who have obvious sparse areas of the brow to be filled in, or who simply want a more full-on looking brow.
Q: How do I take care of my newly tattooed brows?
A: It’s simple, really! For 7-10 days, simply wash your brows daily and gently with warm water, avoid sun exposure, avoid things like makeup and skincare directly on the brows, apply ointment as needed, and don’t pick any flakes or scabs that appear in the healing process. It really is that easy!
MAKEUP
Q: Should I get a trial run for my bridal makeup?
A: Absolutely YES! A makeup trial allows us to get a first meeting together to connect. Your trial run is also the perfect way for us to ensure that you are happy with your look on your big day by seeing what makeup products work best on your skin, what skin prep we need to consider, and it allows you to see your makeup for a whole day weeks before your wedding, so that if adjustments are needed, we can make them. Every bride should have a trial run to ensure they are 100% satisfied on their wedding day and feel confident walking down the aisle.
